The Translation Project, whose mission is to bring contemporary Iranian literature to the world stage in multiple languages and media, presents Midnight Approaches..., a groundbreaking DVD of films of Iranian poetry from around the world. Created by Niloufar Talebi, it features actors, dancers, musicians and other artists who collaborated on making short films based on contemporary Iranian poetry. Several master musicians composed music for each poetry film. Featuring the poems of Ziba Karbassi, Abbas Saffari, Partow Nooriala, Majid Naficy, Saghi Ghahraman and Reza Farmand, this innovative film project makes this poetry accessible to Iranian-Americans and Americans of all generations.
