The Blind Owl is based on the most acclaimed novel of the Iranian writer, Sadegh Hedayat.
It is the symbol of isolated and protesting personality of Iranian intellectuals who instill their sufferings and preoccupations in their souls and establish an internal word.
About the filmmaker:
Derambakhsh, born in Tehran in 1945, is a filmmaker, producer, writer, researcher, and the founder and president of the Association for Nature Communications in Paris. He has made more than 100 documentaries and feature films in European and Asian Countries since 1973.
Derambakhsh has a great deal of experience in the domain of humanitarian films with such subject matters as ethnography and anthropology; children's sociology, environment, cultural heritage as well as moviegraphy and has founded the Fish Eye Productions Institute with offices in Tehran and Paris. The Institute makes use of modern equipment to make films and is willing to participate in making documentaries in the Middle East and Central Asia.
